It all began almost 2 months back! Back when we all for the first time learned to spell the word 'quarantine' correctly. The entire concept was very new to everyone. It seemed weird, not so much to the introverts though but definitely to all the extroverts.
Just last year, I had seen this movie on Netflix called "House Arrest", which then seemed a very crazy idea to me & my thoughts about it were like, " How can someone stay home like this? That too for such a long period of time!!" And, never ever even in my dreams had I imagined of me myself being in that actor's position someday. And BOOM π» Corona got landed!
Years from now we'll be telling the future generations about our stories of lockdown! Here I am telling you all mine☺
To me, it didn't seem that weird in the beginning. I was like okay, I'll get a break from everything, not knowing that it was going to get extended for this long further. The fun part was, it was going to be our final year's submission & journal correction week & while we were staying up late nights, writing, suddenly the lockdown got announced!! So indeed, we students were somewhat relieved with the newsπ€
Then, I came home to Satara. As I had my university exams after almost a month so I did bring my books along & my main motive was to nicely focus on studies & utilize the time wisely. But, just as any ordinary college student, I too didn't take it seriously & continued being lazy & doing timepass in the first few days. But this time it was different like I spent some really nice time with the family, helped mom in the kitchen, tried so many new recipes myself, watched some really great movies, web-series, tried new dance tutorials, planned my cousin's quarantine birthday surprise & lots of other good stuff.

So, I began by first actually noting down in my diary about all the things that I wanted to change in me, all that I wanted to prioritize in life. And then, began working on each of these, of course, the very first priority became my exam studies & fitness. I started doing Yoga & studying by creating a timetable. That's when one of my best friends told me about the Art Of Living's Online Happiness Programme. The way she told me about her beautiful experience of it really inspired me to do it too. So, I registered & finished my four days course. And, Oh My God!! Not to brag but that entirely changed me, the experience of "Sudarshan Kriya" was so awesome that I was moved & then there was no going back. Even after the course, I continued doing the Kriya every day, not missing even a single day. Today was my 39th day of Kriyaπ. With this came so many good changes in me.
It felt as if everything I always wanted to change in me was actually happening. I stopped procrastinating & began all of my prioritized tasks that too with so much happiness.
During the course, our Guru's had mentioned about the "Brahma Muhurta" Being the best time to meditate. So, just out of curiosity I googled about it & read a lot about different theories regarding cosmic energies & how our body has the maximum capacity to connect to the universe during this period. I was fascinated after reading all of that & just as a trial, I woke up one day at 4:30am & did meditation & then studied. That experience was so nice that I did it again the next morning, & then yet again the other day & it has been continued since then. It feels so fresh & cheerful early in the morning that now even on some days when I want to sleep yet I can't convince my mind to miss that beautiful time of the day❤.
With all of this so many things in my life started getting clear. I now know what I want in my life & how can I achieve it. And, I have started working on it with full enthusiasm. It's like I am realising the value of being alive & thus, making use of every second of being alive very wisely.
Indeed, I am just very grateful to this lockdown & not complaining about it. Definitely, the COVID situation is scary & I hope it gets better sooner but I just feel rather than getting bored, let's just spread so much positivity & make the best use of this period to sharpen our skills. There have been so many good conversations with the family, with my best friends. During this period, I got awesome opportunities to attend live some of the legends who I admire a lot. Some newly found skills within myself like that of editing videos, reading e-books, expressing my thoughts in a precise manner, talking less & a lot more. Surely, there will be some changes to this after the lockdown gets over but I am sure I am coming out of this lockdown with a much-upgraded version of myself.
Me, someone who was a complete unreserved person, who always enjoyed being in other's company,
Now, she enjoys being with herself & her own company!
Someone who could never gain weight even after so many efforts has now gained an extra 5 kgs!
Someone who never woke up until the Sun was almost on top of the head,
now wakes up even before sunrises!
Someone who was literally a social media addict with 10,000 followers on Instagram
now doesn't have a single socializing app on her phone & is yet a very happy soul every day!

loved your work ! ...

DeleteThat's great! Realising value of everything and knowing what is good for us is the best thing one could possibly get out of this lock down period! Indeed, you giving up your social media accounts is a bold move and quite inspiring for all of us. Good to see such changes happening in you & hope I'll also be able to get out of this social media loop sooner!

DeleteIt is really nice to see a person like you become so calm. I seriously mean it when I say this that all of us need such spirit for living in these times. And especially when its coming from you - a person who has nature too furious with actions.
ReplyDeletePlease keep motivating people like this and let everyone know that you are much more capable of doing things for those who think you can't and for those too who have faith in you.
